Our system renames your file on upload, and the name of the file on your computer is ignored.  So, it simply doesn't matter how you name your digital image.  The title that you enter on the entry form page is important, however,  Although it forms no part of the file name, it is used when judging and displaying the results on the website.

Please do not use Latin descriptions, botanical names or all capitals in your title plus the use of macrons in your title, the computer does not recognise these and in many cases, it creates more work for the committee, the macron often appears in the title in an odd format. We apologise for asking for this to be done and while it is important to recognise both botanical and correct titles, this is a photography competition and we ask you to consider the extra time this takes for us to fix.
