“Oxford Street†is an attempt to capture the almost chaotic atmosphere of shops, advertisements, traffic and people on a busy day in Oxford Street London. The image was taken facing one of Selfridges’ department store windows, which contained the three male busts. As the shutter button was pressed the woman on the left stepped into the frame and a taxi drove down the street which was reflected in the window. The figure on the bottom right was also a window reflection. To balance the image, the ‘Joop’ bust and taxi window man was borrowed from some images of bus shelter advertising taken further down the road. It was taken with an Nikon D200, 18-200 lens at 55mm, 1/30 sec, F4.5.
